How to apply:


Applications are open on a BI-MONTHLY basis! To app, fill out the application below and PASTE IT IN FULL TO A PAGE IN YOUR CHARACTER JOURNAL and then LINK THAT PAGE IN A COMMENT below. Applications which are pasted in full will not be considered. Before applying, please read the following:

( 01 ) Read the App FAQ.
( 02 ) Applicants may submit ONE application before free-for-all with a possible SECOND after free-for-all. THREE is the in-game limit on how many characters any one player can have in total without special qualifications. Players already in-game may only app ONE character per app round. Please refer to the FAQ. An individual who has passed two successive AC rounds with three characters can app a fourth if they supply said links in their application.
( 03 ) We DO NOT accept challenge applications for characters. After the reservation period ends, all applications are taken on a first-come/first-serve basis during Free-For-All.
( 04 ) Make sure you've given the FAQ and Rules a read before proceeding.

Label your app with CHARACTER NAME | CANON | UN/RESERVED.


Please remember to use correct grammar and punctuation! It is extremely difficult to judge an application written in netspeak. You will be asked to submit the appropriate edits before your app is listed for review. Additionally, please proof-read your application to ensure it reads well.

If two or more sections require any revisions by majority consensus of the App Team, you will be issued a rejection notice with reasons. Please give the app guide below a thorough read to understand what it is we look for when reviewing applicants.

( PLAYER ★ INFORMATION )


NAME: Your name or handle.
AGE: Your age here; if uncomfortable with answering, something vague like 'twenties/thirties/forties/fifties' will suffice. Your age will not be listed anywhere; this is purely for mods to keep track.
CONTACT: A method of contact, whether it be, aim, email, plurk or a personal DW journal.
CURRENT CHARACTERS & LATEST AC: Only applies if you have previous characters in game. A pass in your AC is required.

RESERVATION LINK: A link to your reserve(s).

( CHARACTER ★ INFORMATION )


NAME & AGE: Character name and age. If the age is unknown, a rough estimate or N/A will suffice.
CANON & CANON POINT: Whether your character is from a book/movie/manga/TV series/original (etc) and when you are taking your character from. This includes OCs. If your source material does not have a name, that is perfectly fine!
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: A wiki link will do if available! If no such resource exists, we are looking for a thorough but concise overview of the events involving your character and their world as it relates to them. Leave the specifics that support their personality to the personality section! The Background Information should guide a canonblind reader through significant events with referenced examples, remaining linear to that character's development. Minor characters should have at least a known timeline within their canon to be considered appable. Original characters should give enough information about their world and their character’s history for the mod team and other players to understand the universe and background. In all cases, there is no need to summarize the entire narrative! Simply tell us what we need to assess the application.

HEADCANON INCLUSION: Before getting stuck into your Personality section, please remember to highlight or bold any widely used fanon interpreted facts or outright headcanon. We don't mind it; everyone has a little headcanon! But it should support your character's motivations and remain in line with their history, culture and profession. If you play from a movie and there is a book series to draw on for additional strengthening of your app, please highlight this too. For PLAYER CHOICE DEPENDANT CHARACTERS, please do the same when it comes to pointing out which direction you took and where. This makes it easier for canon familiar members of the App Team to confirm.

PERSONALITY: Minimum 300 words or so on your character. We're looking for examples of experiences governing character motivation, their close relationships (or relationships that have affected them most), interactions with those around them and how events in canon have impacted them. Less "he is brave" and more "he is brave because of this, as seen here", the former of which will not warrant acceptance. Give us examples! Please be aware that the Personality section and the Court Alliance are sections which our app team pay particular attention to.
COURT ALLIANCE & REASONING: Please let us know what Court you want to assign your character to! Court Alignment should underline key elements in the Personality section and the reasoning therein. You may use the Court Descriptions as a base. Feel free in being creative in how you interpret the courts, but make a good argument! If you are happy to allow the App Team to decide Court selection, please leave us a note at the end of this section: HOWEVER, please be aware you must submit explanations for how your character suits at least TWO of the options. Note that while this section need not be lengthy, court alignment cannot be changed once confirmed unless a significant personality alteration is underwent by the character during a canon update. If you fail to submit this section, you will be issued an automatic revision! You can try out our Fun Court Quiz! This quiz is non-binding. It’s just a fun way to help you pick!

ABILITIES: Please use bullet-point format to write out each ability your character has. Links may be used, but should not carry the weight of this section. Note some abilities may be capped, but most of these can be regained. Only gamebreaking skills cannot be regained. Please see Gameplay FAQ for more information on magic and items in the Drabwurld!
INVENTORY: Please list all belongings on your character at their pull point. Note any abilities, and be aware that technology will be disabled. Please do this in bullet point!

( WRITING ★ SAMPLES )


NETWORK SAMPLE: A sample of a network post! This is to display to the App Team that you are following the sourced information in the Personality section regarding your character's voice. We highly recommend you use this section to showcase your grasp on how the character speaks in FIRST PERSON rather than their actions. You can link a post from a previous game or musebox IF you provide a written log sample. Please do not submit an Action thread. Taciturn characters who are neither entirely silent for their canon or physically unable to speak are still required to submit between 5-10 lines of dialogue.

LOG SAMPLE: In this sample we're looking for how you portray your character in THIRD PERSON via thoughts and actions. You can link to a log from a previous game or a musebox IF you provide a written network sample. Please do not submit a Network thread.

NB All samples must fall within the time limit of the previous 12 months at the date of an application being submitted.
