( 25 ) NATIVE OC APPLICATIONS
∞ NATIVE OC APPLICATIONS . . . . . NATIVE OC APPS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED. ( OPENING TBD & CLOSING TBD ) How to apply: Native OC Applications are open sporadically. To app, fill out the application below and PASTE IT IN FULL in a comment below. The app period for Native OCs is short because it is very likely to require detailed one on one conversations with mods via your google doc even in the event of no revisions. Please give the app guide below a thorough read to understand what it is we look for when reviewing applicants. THE APP ( PLAYER ★ INFORMATION )NAME: Your name or handle. AGE: Your age here; if uncomfortable with answering, something vague like 'twenties/thirties/forties/fifties' will suffice. Your age will not be listed anywhere; this is purely for mods to keep track of. CONTACT: A method of contact, whether it be, aim, email, plurk or a personal DW journal. CURRENT CHARACTERS & LATEST AC: Only applies if you have previous characters in game. A pass in your AC is required. LINK TO CHARACTER GDOC: Please create a google document with your character's application and share it with the mod gmail! fairywoes@gmail.com ( CHARACTER ★ INFORMATION )NAME & AGE: Character name and age. If the age is unknown, a rough estimate or N/A will suffice. RACE: Is your character a human, orc, fairy, wererat, naga... you get the drift! HOMETOWN: Where were they born? If a small location not on the map, please describe it! CURRENT RESIDENCE: Where is their current base of operations? OCCUPATION: What does your character do for a living? DETAILED HISTORY: This should be a thorough history detailing all your character has done or accomplished, and demonstrate a logical progression PERSONALITY: This should be incredibly thorough and refer to your detailed history to demonstrate how personality traits were developed in detail and not an overview. Minimum 500 words or so on your character. We're looking to see how your character interfaces with others, who are their primary relationships and why, what are their primary motivations, their strengths, weaknesses, and so forth. This should be your strongest section, and should demonstrate at least a basic understanding of medieval life and values. ALLIANCES & CONTACTS: Native OCs MAY serve one of the courts... or they may not! In bullet-point format with small elaborations, please list all of your character's notable alliances and/or contacts. ABILITIES: What are your characters abilities, skills, and talents? Please use bullet-point format and write out each ability, especially if it relates to technology. Links may be used to elaborate upon a power, but should not carry the weight of this section, which should display a thorough understanding of a character's limits (nothing game-breaking!). Please refer to the FAQ for help. INVENTORY: Belongings your character has accrued throughout their life. Please be thorough, and include lands, territories, mounts, pets, etc. ( WRITING ★ SAMPLES )Native OC characters DO NOT enter the game with lockets (though of course they can steal those of other characters!) and as such will NOT be able to respond to the locket community unless they gain a locket! All samples are therefore log-type samples. TRAVEL LOG SAMPLE: Native OCs, and all native characters which are not the fairies or monarchs, can ONLY travel through the drabwurld using magic or traditional means. That means you'll likely be writing a LOT of travel. Demonstrate your writing ability by writing an engaging travel log! DIALOGUE LOG SAMPLE: In this sample we're looking for how you portray your character's conversational habits, and ensuring that they rub off in interactions as you propose them in the personality section. WILDCARD LOG SAMPLE: This section is meant to demonstrate clear understanding of the world and ability to respond cleverly and articulately to a wide variety of circumstance. Devise a situation which you believe provides excellent flavor text for the game, plays to your character's strengths, and provides multiple opportunities for engagement. Playing a Native OC will be far more demanding than playing a shardbearer, because others will be looking to you to set the tone, to provide insider information relating to the world and game plot at large; Native OCs also have LESS to work with, from having a natural lifespan, no access to boons, no lockets, and other difficulties. NB No sample apps yet. SAMPLE APPS - ★ NA - ★ NA NB These sample apps are based on the previous app format and will be replaced after the second app-round. |
