IMPORTANT FIGURES
SHINEHer Most Fierce, The Radiant, Sun of the Six Realms

Renowned for her generosity and fierce skills in swordsmanship, Shine is a distant cousin to Ridire who fell in love with him when she saved his life during the Battle of Glory. She currently courts him. She is Brigid’s daughter and Shade’s sister, and the three are intensely close. Considered the mother of the Diamond Coterie, she is beloved by all and has been known to sit at the bedside of the sick in the infirmary. One kiss from Shine can, for a time, ease the heart of all its woes and send the individual into a deep sleep from which they will wake rejuvenated and strong. She is not one to be toyed with and owns a piercing blue gaze that makes grown warriors tremble if they lie to her. The white unicorn of her banner signals both her brilliance and her unyielding aggression in combat.

NB: Shine has the ability to strip characters of their powers/weapons if world-breaking schemes are implemented.
SHADEThe First Lady of War, Most Beautiful and Terrible, Weaver of Night, Mistress of Hearts

Shade is merciful and cunning, usually binding those to her whom she brings under her protection. Leading the Amethyst Circle in great ingenuity and brilliance, she puts much of her resources towards fostering free thought and the liberation of those most poorly treated. Shade is very indulgent of her people and will tolerate much in the name of freedom, but even she has her limits. She is Brigid’s daughter and Shine’s sister, and the three are intensely close. However, she has begun to drift from Shine recently as Reul of the Angelite Syndicate has captured her attentions. The black cleg of her banner signals both her loyalty to those dear to her and the iron force of her judgement.

NB: Shade has the ability to strip characters of their powers/weapons if world-breaking schemes are implemented.
BRIGIDMother of All, the Green Mother, Life-Bringer, Bringer of Final Peace

A great guide to the world, beloved by many, Brigid looks after the world from her place as leader of the Amber Congregation. Kind of heart and sweet of smile, Brigid is capable of great death and destruction as well as life and creation. Above all she seeks peace and harmony. Often she spends her time soothing discord and seeking harmony. Those who wish to serve her often plants flowers and trees in her name, and she is beloved of all the Sisters. Mother to Shine and Shade, she is close to her daughters but seeks warm allegiance with the other groups as well.

KING-COMMANDER REUL NA MAIDNEThe Aggrieved, Shade of the Mystics, Lord Commander of Shadow, Chief Ruiner of the Necromancers

The son of a dark witch, Reul slew his parents when they refused to raise an army against the growing forces of the Garnet Coalition and has waged war on the other factions ever since, spurred on by an unhealthy desire to claim the sacred gemstone for himself. Linked to the God of Greed by their shared covetousness and past history, Reul controls the witchlands where his parents once showed cowardice but is ambitious to claim more territory. He has been known to flay and roast those of his subjects who cause him offense or commit treason, feeding them to the goblins at macabre feasts. He lives in war tents and attacks his enemies more than he rules his people.

PRIME LECTOR ALLENDIAHeart of the Starry Sea, the Great Arbiter, Spark of Knowledge, Core of Wisdom

Functioning day to day as a primary administrator of Seacht Réalta University, Allendia administers the Jade Society with a mind to the advancement of knowledge and the preservation of neutrality. Allendia is rumoured to be a close friend to the Weaver and the only one who knows his location, but she tells this to no one. Allendia is sworn by personal oath to tell only truths, and while many fairies use this for trickery, Allendia is known to prefer direct refusal to answer over cunning and deceptive wordplay. While Allendia is a great warrior, she has not gone into battle for some time. This should not fool others to think her complacent, for Seacht Réalta’s forces stand ready at all times and fight with the most advanced weaponry and cunning of tactics. Allendia would prefer her work not be disturbed by war, and even in times of conflict, she is known to shelter Shardbearers from opposing courts who are contributing to her university--under careful watch.

THE DAROLISEThe Ever-burning Ruler of Ice, Shape-trickster, the Builder

Leader of the Citrine Assembly and Master Architect of the Rising Glacier, the Darolise appears in many guises to those who serve under them. An old man who kindly greets guests; a youthful girl bragging on court steps; even a young hare traced through the arctic wildlands; the Darolise has been known to take all of these shapes and more. The Darolise’s true shape is said to be unknown to any but Allendia, who knew them at the start, but that is knowledge Allendia will not share. Restless and shifting as the great construction they rule over, the Darolise relentlessly pushes their Shardbearers and subjects to greater heights and greater accomplishments. Be warned: the Darolise’s affections are as fleeting as their forms, and both favourites and allegiances may burn brightly one day and turn to ash the next.

NB: The Darolise has the ability to strip characters of their powers/weapons if world-breaking schemes are implemented.
GENERAL-KING RIDIREHis Most Glorious, The Just, Lord of Light, First Warrior of Glaschu

The son of Good King Greenman, Ridire was once the brother of seven brothers and seven sisters when King Reul first arose to power. In the recent Battle of Glory ("Blàr Cliù") upon the plains of Cathraon, all his siblings were slain, leaving to him the kingship of Glaschu. Ever since, Ridire has ruled justly, bravely and not without compassion, though his strengths lie in battle and he is known as the First Warrior of the land. He enjoys hosting feasts that last for days at a time and throws open the doors of his hall to the Sisterhood of the Nymphs (most notably the reason for so many dryads surrounding the land around Mùr Cumhachdach). His mother was half-dryad, which allows him to rally the trees and forests in times of need.

NB: Ridire has the ability to strip characters of their powers/weapons if world-breaking schemes are implemented.
THE WHITE HARTKing of Beasts, Lord of Unicorns, Wilder One

The king of beasts, the White Hart is one of the highest ranking creatures in the Drabwurld and even kings and queens must bend at the knee before him. He is a being of pure light and only bows before those who are pure of heart and destined to wear a crown. All the lands belong to him but he most loves Glaschu and it prospers because of his repeated wanderings there, though he may appear anywhere, at any time. Unicorns bear great love for the White Hart and the legends say they take their respect of kings, queens, princes and princesses from him, allowing only those of noble birth to ride them (try and ride the White Hart, however, and you will end up smeared on the ground). Every year the Wild Hunt takes place and he awaits the riders of Glaschu outside their meadows on the edge of the forest, where a horn is sounded and the hunt begins. This is the only time he may be slain, but he always walks again anew the next day, regardless of the carcass that is eaten in his honour. While he can prove a formidable opponent with antlers of steel-like bark and a coat of gleaming silver-white, it is his gaze that penetrates the mind and looks into your soul. He is the brother of Black Shuck.

BLACK SHUCKBlack Dog of Death, The Old Shadow

The "Black Dog of Death", Black Shuck is one of the highest-ranking creatures in the Drabwurld, an enormous shaggy hound who condemns only the most unjust and wretched to death (which is really saying something, since he lets the likes of orcs and redcaps live). Seven-feet tall, he appears as if out of a dark fog, walks toward the evildoer and recites the charges laid against them. (Legend says that it is Black Shuck who slew the step-mother of Celebwen, a maid who was chased by orcs only to drown in a nearby loch; the girl was, in fact, sold to them while her father was away. She escaped by chance after being tortured and defiled at their hands for days, while her pet dog who ran to her aid was beaten half to death.) The accused are allowed to bid one person present goodbye, after which they are torn apart and devoured by Black Shuck himself. The White Hart is not his enemy, curiously enough, for while the Hart blesses and protects, the Shuck convicts and destroys; they are brothers. Don't fuckle with the Shuckle.

AVARITIAGod of Greed, Keeper of Treasures, Management, Serpent of Lies

One of the most powerful gods of the Drabwurld simply because everyone desires something, Avaritia typically appears to those that seek him out in the form of some sort of reptile, often either a brilliant greed serpent or an otherworldly crocodilian. His altars and temples cover a great deal of ground and it is said that treasures of all kinds are hidden beneath them, guarded by his many children in both spirit and solid form. He treats everyone based on their potential value and what he can gain from them, and aspiring warlords and magicians often come to gamble for more power. They very seldom win. It is unclear exactly what relationship he has with King-Commander Reul, with storms of magic erupting during their meetings as often as gifts of information or power.

THE WEAVERThe Drabkeeper, The Recorder, Librarian of Fate

Perhaps the single most powerful individual in the Drabwurld outside of the Shuck and the Hart, the Weaver is tied by the very nature of his existence. His role is to record and not to interfere, to simply write the histories and truths of the world such as they come to pass, no matter his opinion on them. All shardbearers interact with him in a dream upon arriving in the Drabwurld, his role as ‘recorder’ occasionally requiring him to step in as ‘narrator’, but he is unable to be actively sought out. Attempts to gain too much information from him often result in great cataclysms, and he’s really very tired of having to relocate every few decades.
