How would magic spells from Final Fantasy like LIFE and FULL-LIFE work in regards to, well, death here? They're never very clear in the games whether characters die and the spell revives them or they're just near death and the spell just brings them around, to be fair.

But with near-death causing shards to emerge and stuff, would the spells have any effect on that?
